UK film school

The national film school is probably impossible to get onto, just simply becos they take like 12 new students each year in each area of film making.

So ive been looking at alternatives. First of which, the London film school costs over ?5000 a term and theres 6 terms. How on earth is anyone meant to come up with ?30,000? I think the national film school is ?8,000 (2 years at ?4k).

im just reading on thier site that the course takes up so much time and requires working at funny times that it is imposible to get a job while studying the course. ?30,000 and you cant even have a part time job to afford food. What a joke

Do the named courses offer 35mm camera's?
Here college is more or less free, since education is heavily subsidised by the government.
Ah, the good 'ol welfare state. But they're thibking of changing that. Bastards. Anyway, the only reason I would want to go to film school,personally, is to use there equipment. In my very humblest of opinions you'll be a much more accomplished film maker if you learn from your mistakes and develop your own unique style.

the course shoots alot on 35mm thats why its so expensive.

what about a uni course and get a student loan???

Go for a Uni course. Try one which is 4 years or at least has some work experience included. Plus, the experience of Uni is a great way to influence your life and get connections in the business later on. You never know who from your class will go far
